Orotina is found in the province of Alajuela. It is the capital of the canton of Orotina. His name, like Canton, derived from an Indian monarch, King Gurutina or Orotina, whose dominions in 1522 apparently were located inland from the bay of Tivives inclusive.
It is located at coordinates North 42 92 September 1954, 84 31 24 15 West, which is about twelve miles from the Pacific coast, and approximately 39 miles from the capital, San José. The county has been characterized in the past decade for the development of recreational estates and small farms. For its privileged climate, is one of the favorite parts of the country for thousands of families to build their development pleasure.
